What was originally a contest where anyone could participate, is now a good exercise you can use as a chops challenge.
Start off with a metronome tempo that lets you play each exercise in a relaxed manner and gradually increase the speed over time.
If you’re using tension-free technique, you should be able to raise your metronome tempo over time.
Keep a blank notebook around so you can keep track of your progress.
